Towards simultaneous MRI-SPECT (gamma-MRI) using highlypolarized gamma-emitting nuclei
This project aims at combining the advantages of PET (Positron Emission Tomography), SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) techniques in the form of the gamma-MRI technique, which uses highly-polarized gamma-emitting nuclei to detect their MRI signal in the spatial pattern of their gamma decay, thus performing simultaneous MRI-SPECT studies.
