Compact and low-cost light simulator for indoor photovoltaic cells development
Integration of ACCURATE chip into a characterisation tool for photovoltaic cells and IoT devices. The goal is develop a compact artificial light emulator to determine and address any pitfalls (e.g. poor low light performance) of photovoltaic cells early on before IoT devices are being deployed. CERN’s ACCURATE chip improves the current performance of the tool by accurately tracking long-term performance consistency/stability and measuring the PV and IoT device performance at lowest light levels (i.e. where small margins are critical for operational usefulness). The project will be implemented in collaboration with Lightricity who aim to commercialise the tool.
